As dependence on ICT systems increases, any business from any sector faces cyber risks that reach dramatic levels in the case of critical infrastructures with strong impact on society welfare. There is therefore the urgent need to count on highly-skilled, multi-disciplined cybersecurity professionals and here is where our colleagues from Cyberwiser come into play.

CYBERWISER.eu is a European initiative that addresses the need for effective, user-friendly environments dedicated to training of professionals in the field of cybersecurity. The project will consider the needs of both private and public end-users, preparing organisations’ response and decision-making processes, especially in the evolving regulatory context, leveraging on state-of-the-art methodologies and tools successfully tested in operational environments and taking the advantage of a rigorous, high-impact validation phase with 3 full-scale pilots, one in academia, and two in critical infrastructures (energy and transport). A clear go-to-market strategy will be implemented to achieve sustainability within 18 months after project completion, owing to the open pilot stream active as part of the CYBERWISER.eu workplan.

Kicking off in September 2018, by 2020 the project, in the following 30 months, it will be provided a set of innovative tools to generate highly detailed exercise scenarios simulating ICT infrastructures to be used for cybersecurity professional training, together with tools and solutions to simulate cyberattacks and defensive countermeasures and a set of highly descriptive economic models for cyber risk assessment and countermeasure suggestion, to boost user training and performance evaluation.
